Chatbot brings the world's most powerful AI models and tools together in one place. Here's a quick overview of the main features and where to find them on the web.
Home / Chat screen
When you open Chatbot App, you land on the main chat screen ("How can I help you?"). From here you can:
Type a question or task into the message bar, or click the microphone to speak
Click the model name at the top (e.g. "OpenAI GPT-5 Mini") to switch between AI models
Use the quick prompt suggestions below the message bar — such as Analyze image and Summarize text — or click See More for additional ideas
Sidebar
The left sidebar is where you navigate the app:
New Chat — start a fresh conversation (⌘0)
Apps — browse all AI models, assistants, and creative tools
Images — view and manage the images you've generated
Documents — access documents you've created or uploaded
Projects — organize related chats and files into projects
Search Chat — search across your conversations
Chat History — your past conversations, grouped by date
You can collapse or expand the sidebar using the toggle icon in the top-left.
Apps
Apps is where you browse everything Chatbot offers, organized into categories like Most Popular, Lifestyle, Assistant, Creative, Coding, Education, Research, Productivity, and Writing. Here you can:
Chat with leading models such as Gemini, GPT-5, Claude, DeepSeek, Grok, and more
Open specialized assistants like Chef, Dietitian, Personal Trainer, Software Developer, Architect, and Artist
Use creative tools like the Logo, Tattoo, Signature, and Image Generators
Tools
Click Tools in the message bar to access:
Create an image — generate custom visuals from a description
Search the web — get real-time answers from the web
Canvas — explore your conversation visually on an infinite, draggable canvas (see below)
Canvas
Canvas turns your conversation into a visual, freeform workspace instead of a single linear thread. On an infinite, draggable canvas, you can:
Branch — split off from any point in a conversation to explore an alternative direction, ask a follow-up, or try a different approach without losing your original thread
Compare — keep multiple branches side by side and follow each one independently
Merge — bring the responses from different branches back together into a single conversation
Canvas is ideal when you want to explore several ideas in parallel, then combine the best parts into one place.
Documents
Documents, found in the sidebar, is where your created and uploaded documents are stored. Open it to revisit, review, or continue working with your files anytime. (Documents is separate from Canvas: Documents is where your saved files live, while Canvas is the visual workspace for branching and merging conversations.)
Attachments
Click the "+" button in the message bar to add content for Chatbot to work with:
Upload files, photos, and documents from your device
Connect Google Drive to bring in your files directly
Add PDFs or URLs for summaries and analysis
